Thermal imaging technology aids in the successful rescue of fawns

As part of an animal welfare project, Medialine Group once again supported fawn rescue efforts on May 20 using state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology. Since 2021, the Medialine Group has been committed to animal and species conservation, relying on innovative technical solutions to prevent so-called mowing losses. Especially in the spring, agricultural mowing poses a significant danger to fawns, hares, and other wildlife. Fawns, in particular, are difficult to protect because they lack a strong flight instinct and are difficult to spot in tall grass.
To counter this risk, thermal imaging drones are deployed, which reliably detect heat signatures even in dense vegetation. This allows hunters to locate the animals in time and bring them to safety before mowing begins. The animals are then released back into their natural habitat.
Medialine Group supports these efforts not only with technical equipment: Several thermal imaging drones have been provided for the Bad Sobernheim and Mainz regions. Additionally, employees regularly participate in on-site rescue operations and, having obtained drone pilot licenses, contribute personally to the safe operation of the technology.
The project vividly demonstrates how modern IT and drone technology can make a tangible contribution to animal and species conservation—in a practical and efficient way, with direct benefits for nature.
