Not for me, for my little boy.
I wasn't going to do this, but between baldingwxguy's thread and Sky One mentioning "family" in the B Club, here goes:
My wife and I have a 4 year old son who is pretty small for his age. Due to his light weight, small frame and sub-par physical development, he went through *almost* every test possible a couple of years ago and all came back negative... the one thing that nobody checked for was muscular dystrophy. Now that he is showing "signs" of MD, his doctor highly recomended that we see a specialist. So... in a couple of hours, we'll be driving to Ann Arbor to see one of the best neurologists in the state.
I don't even know what I am asking you to say in a prayer... mine have been a little lost lately. Basically, I ask Him to spare my son and give *it* to me instead, if in fact there is anything to give. I've worked several MDA telethons and met some amazing people during that time... maybe that's a blessing in disguise?
Anyhow... please keep my son, wife and I in your thoughts and prayers today.
Jake

Praying right now, buddy.
God knows before we do what's going to happen. He promises he won't put more on you than you can handle...and there may be times when you will feel you absolutely cannot handle this. But you will...no matter the outcome. HE is your strength!

Definitely, Jake. Having a 5 year old and 3 year old myself, it's been my constant worry that they would be happy and healthy growing up.
And with a 3rd on the way in February, we decided not to find out the sex ahead of time. As I tell people, so long as it has 10 fingers and 10 toes and healthy, that's all I can ask for.
Will be keeping your son in my thoughts. ![[Hug]](graemlins/hug.gif)

Good luck Jake.
As a father of an almost 3-year old and with a new girl due in about a month, these are things that are constantly on my mind.
My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.....
My daughter had trouble breathing for the first few days of her life, and it was the most horrible experience I could ever imagine. Not knowing if she was going to make it...
When you have children, you would do anything to take their pain & suffering away....
Good luck! ![[Smile]](smile.gif) [ September 06, 2007, 09:37 AM: Message edited by: fous ]

I'll be praying for your son, your wife and you for a long time. I've been through scary times with my children, and it sure meant a lot to me to have the prayers. To this day, I believe that all of those prayers saved my daughter's life.
Best of luck to you and your family!

I am elated with joy this morning! The doctor examined my son and after doing a series of strength and reflex tests, he said, "Your son does not have any form of MD. I'm so confident in that thinking that we're not even going to do blood work or a muscle biopsy." Music to my ears... the best birthday present EVER!
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! You all are the best! ![[Hug]](graemlins/hug.gif)
