I do weekeday mornings. The shows are crazy, and I am on just about every five minutes or so. The day goes by pretty fast until the noon show comes along.
Today I am filling in for the weekend guy. I have not done weekends in about a year. I have been here for an hour. We have shows at 5 and 10. I am already ready for the shows. I have 2 1/2 hours before the first show that may get cut short by golf. I will have a three hour lunch before the 10.
My point?? What the Hell am I to do with all of the down time?? I suppose I could clean up around here, or do something constructive.
I guess I just forgot what it was like to do weekends. lol

I`m now the weekend guy at my shop. With some of the extra time, I`m going to take on a few administrative things... not busy work, but stuff that will help with some day to day operations.. computer hard drive back ups..etc. Needs to get done anyway, might as well use some downtime to do it!

Only an hour to go now. I brought my checkbook. I got it up to date. I paid some bills, too.
I have actually done some work. I cleaned up some things...and re-arranged some things. I freshended up a couple of graphics.
Ho-hum. I actually kind of miss this schedule.
Which do you prefer?

Grotto:
8 hours is 8 hours.
I'll look for those new scenes on the new box when I get in on Monday.
In all that spare time, you should have been able to create a lot of them, right?

You sound like my wife. I do the "books" in our house. She likes paying online...but I just have to have the stuff in front of me. I keep much better track of our stuff if I have to write out the checks and physically handle the bills.

Having taken that opportunity to take a friendly jab at Grotto, let me say this:
He has, without question, the hardest shift in the department..maybe even on the station. He DOES get hit every five minutes from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. then ID's, teases, cut-ins, and more. He has to be on top of it without thinking. It's constant. Add to that the fact that he's usually sleep-deprived (occasionally crabby) and sometimes forgets to wear a WHITE shirt.
Been there; done that, before I became the night guy.
Rule: Dark suit, white shirt, tie to accent.
So doing 3 1/2 minutes twice in 8 hours leave him surfing and balancing his checkbook.
....and maybe building a couple of new scenes?

Ahhh...trying to dog me out, Chief. I did not do anything "new". I just freshened up some old stuff...to make the old stuff better match the "new" stuff. Confused yet? I know I am.
But since you asked...I did organize and clean our areas today. With all of the rearranging lately...things got a bit disheveled.
Edit: Although I did take the new car out for a test drive tonight. Handles pretty well. Just needs a minor tune-up! [ September 23, 2006, 08:14 PM: Message edited by: Grotto ]

Wow. The sauce is flowing tonight!
As to white shirts...nothing will replace the vision left in my brain of the look on your face on my black suit/black shirt/black tie day! Actually...the look on most faces was worth it. I just love my colored shirts!!

I hope you didn't rearrange the dust bunnies. Engineering gets really upset if you clean up.
..and I'm not real formal; you don't have to call me chief. Just as long as you bow as you back out of the room. If you don't know how, check with rdale, he can teach you much about genuflection and hailing to the chief.

Ahhh...I was using a metaphor (I think). I do not have a new car...but our department does.
