When Mr. Obama made his silly statement about "patriotism," he made the flag pin thing a bigger deal than it was. He gave ammo to his critics.

I had never paid attention to whether he wore a pin or not. Some politicians so, others do not.

As for the photo, what stood out the most to me was that Governor Richardson appears to be moved by reciting the Pledge, just from the look on his face. I'll add that Mr. Obama looks bored by the whole thing. That's just how I see it. Others may see it differently and are free to do so.

Obama should have been ready for this. I've gotten the Obama pic in emails stating "His middle name is Hussein". I send this one in response.
