That's a good picture to use to show a "Ground to Cloud" strike, instead of the more common "Cloud to Ground" variety. The forking of the lightning upward shows the stepped leader grew upward from the ground toward the sky. A lot of people don't quite grasp that aspect of lightning generation, and that pic is a great way to help them understand.

I scanned it from a book. Says it's near the community of Wyckoff, MO...Taken summer of 92'

HAH! Re-creation or re-broadcast of any textbook lightning pictures that may or may not be subject to international copyright law without the express written consent of the National Football League is strictly prohibited.

Nice shot.

But to be honest, when I first saw the town name, I misread it as Wackmeoff. Must of been some sort of Freudian slip.
