Matt DeLucia is happy to move back to Philadelphia where he graduated from La Salle University. He moves up 36 markets to join WCAU as a reporter. Matt leaves KVVU in Las Vegas where he has been a reporter for the past four years.

Julie Fine jumps to a top five market as she joins KXAS in Dallas as a reporter. For the last three years, Julie has been lead nightside reporter for WPXI in Pittsburgh.

Jamie Yuccas has been promoted to weekday morning anchor for WCCO in Minneapolis. She has been the weekend morning anchor and reporter since 2011.

Jeremy Campbell will bring his special brand of versatile storytelling to Atlanta as an MMJ for the Gannett station WXIA. Previously, he was an MMJ for WTVT in Tampa.

Kirk Yuhnke joins KDVR in Denver as morning anchor. For the last three years, Kirk has anchored the morning newscast for KNXV in Phoenix.

Nina Sparano becomes a staff reporter and fill-in anchor for KCNC in Denver. Nina has been a freelance reporter for the station since 2012 and prior was with KDVR in Denver.

Jack Miller joins Central Florida News 13 in Orlando as a news anchor. Most recently, Jack had been the primary anchor for KGAN in Cedar Rapids.

Erik Sandoval joins WKMG in Orlando as a general assignment reporter. Previously, Erik worked as an anchor and reporter for Northwest Cable News.

Amy Troy joins KPTV in Portland as an anchor and reporter. Previously, she was an anchor and reporter for KOIN in Portland.

Joy Lambert has been promoted to morning anchor at WPTY in Memphis. Joy has been with the station for three years as weekend anchor.

Jorge Torres joins KOB in Albuquerque as weekend meteorologist. Jorge has been forecasting the weekday morning and noon weather for KVIA in El Paso.

KENS-TV, San Antonio, TX... KURT DAVIS has been named VP, News Services for CBS News. Kurt joined KENS, a Belo-owned CBS affiliate, in the summer of 2003. He's also been a news director in New Orleans and Lynchburg, VA, and has worked in Dallas, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, and Little Rock, AR. CBS says Kurt will lead CBS News' satellite newsgathering organization. JOHN FRAZEE, currently the Senior VP, News Services for CBS, will leave the network later this year, take some time off, and then look for other opportunities.

This opening creates the second ND opening in San Antonio. WOAI's TOM BELL is leaving at the end of May to become ND for KOVR/KMAX-TV in Sacramento, a CBS owned duopoly.

WTWO-TV, Terre Haute, IN...TOM McCLAHAN is stepping down as news director but will continue to anchor for this Nexstar owned NBC affiliate. He's been at the station for more than 40 years in a wide variety of roles.

KTUL-TV, Tulsa, OK...CARLTON HOUSTON is leaving this ABC affiliate to become ND for KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City.

Newly Named News Directors:

KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City, OK...CARLTON HOUSTON joins this LocalTV owned NBC affiliate from KTUL-TV, the Albritton-owned ABC affiliate in Tulsa. Ironically, both groups are for sale. Carlton's been the ND for KTUL for six years. He began his career on the air before moving into management, and has worked in Tampa, Kansas City, Norfolk, Jackson, MS and Columbia, MO. At KFOR, he replaces MARY ANN ECKSTEIN who left the station in January after 33 years. Carlton also becomes the second Tulsa ND to move to Oklahoma City, following TODD SPESSARD who joined KWTV two years ago. Both are Missouri grads and are now competing against each other for the third time, having also once worked for different stations in Kansas City.

KCAU-TV, Sioux City, IA...JACK BROOKS has been promoted to ND for this Citadel Communications owned ABC affiliate. He's worked for the station for five years as Assistant ND, Assignment Editor, and as a producer. He replaces CARLA KREEGAR who left the station in March after seven years as ND.

WTVY-TV, Dothan, AL...KIM ALLEN has been promoted from sports director to news director at the Gray TV owned ABC station. He also spent eleven years as the sports director at WDHN-TV in Dothan. Kim replaces JEFF RAKER who died suddenly last February.

KLDO-TV, Laredo, TX...DIANE CASTILLO assumes additional duties as ND for this Entravision owned station. She is also the ND for KXOF-TV, the FOX affiliate which is co-located. She replaces WILLIAM ECHEVERRIA who, according to my records, became ND there last September.

KYLE MOUNCE jumps 55 markets to WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mounce will forecast weekend evening newscasts for the ABC station. Kyle comes from WPSD in Paducah, Kentucky where he was the Weeknight Meteorologist.

BEEJAL PATEL is the new anchor for KKCO, the NBC affiliate in Grand Junction, Colorado. Patel will anchor the weekday morning shows. Beejal comes from Chicago, Illinois where she worked for Bloomberg News and First Business Network.

JULIE MORAVCHIK takes over as News Director at WDAZ, the ABC affiliate in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Moravchik was previously News Director at KQDS Fox 21 in Duluth, Minnesota and was also a reporter for WDIO in Duluth.

PATRICK SIMON re-signs as Primary Weeknight Co-Anchor at 5, 6 and 10 for KSLA, the CBS affiliate in Shreveport, Louisiana. Simon also adds the title of Managing Editor to his duties.

Stephanie tells me that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis about a year ago and has decided she needs to concentrate on her health and her family. She's been here more than five years, and has also worked in Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, Memphis, Tulsa, Cincinnati, and Baltimore.

WTVR-TV, Richmond, VA...BILL ANDERSON is leaving this CBS affiliate for a new job as Director of News Standards and Practices. Bill's been the ND for this Local TV owned station for 4 1/2 years. He'll be based at the Sinclair station in Nashville, a market in which Bill worked earlier in his career. He's also worked in Tucson, Houston, and Columbia, MO.

WHP-TV, Harrisburg, PA...congratulations to veteran ND DAVID BAER who'll be the next ND for this recently-acquired-by-Sinclair CBS affiliate. Dave most recently was the ND for WXXA-TV in Albany, NY, but lost his job last December when the station was sold and WTEN-TV took over the news production for WXXA. He's a former ND in Indianapolis, Raleigh, Providence, Portland, ME, Buffalo, and Springfield. MA. Dave replaces CRAIG HUME who left the station last month and is now the ND for KSNV-TV in Las Vegas.

KMIR-TV, Palm Desert, CA...DAVID REESE gets his first ND job as he takes the helm of this Journal Broadcast Group owned NBC affiliate. He's spent the past 15 years at KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, most recently as Assignment Manager. David's worked for several other Los Angeles stations, and in Eugene, OR. KTVA-TV, Anchorage, AL...the new owners of the CBS affiliate, GCI, Alaska's largest telecom, have launched a massive re-building of the station, including a relocated facility, additional newscasts, and a larger staff.

Newly Named News Directors:

WPIX-TV, New York, NY...MARK EFFRON is returning to a local newsroom as ND for this Tribune owned operation. Mark's a former VP/News for Post-Newsweek, ND for WFSB-TV in Hartford (when PNS owned it), and a former MSNBC executive. He most recently has been working on a public radio partnership. The New York Daily News interviewed Mark about his new opportunity. He replaces BILL CAREY who left the station last fall after almost three years as ND.

KINT-TV, El Paso, TX...URIEL POSADA will be the next ND for this Entravision owned station. He has been working at the Telemundo station in El Paso, and has previously worked in Denver and Sacramento. Uriel replaces ZOLTAN CSANYI-SALCEDO who left the station in February for a job at ESPN.

Chris Hayes moves to prime time on MSNBC, taking over the 8pm eastern time slot with his new show, “All In With Chris Hayes.” Chris has been the host of “UP” with Chris Hayes, a weekend political commentary show on MSNBC since August of 2011.

Steve Kornacki, an editor for Salon.com and co-host of “The Cycle” on MSNBC, will take over as host of “UP” weekend mornings on MSNBC.

Jennifer Mayerle has been promoted to special projects reporter for WGCL in Atlanta where she has been a general assignment reporter since 2006.

Amanda Perez is going home to Texas to join KPRC in Houston as a general assignment reporter. Amanda leaves KFSN in Fresno where she has been a reporter and fill-in anchor.

As we noted above, Lane is leaving WCPO-TV in Cincinnati after just over a year as ND. This is Lane's fourth ND job in the past five years. and sixth overall. He's also held positions at Gannett and Poynter. He began his career as a photojournalist. Lane replaces ERIC LUDGOOD who left the station in January after two years as ND and is now the Assistant ND at WAGA-TV in Atlanta.

WTVA-TV, Tupelo, MS...DAVID BEECH starts on Monday as the next ND for this locally owned ABC affiliate. He was most recently was a ND in Reno and earlier has been an ND in Grand Junction, CO. At KOKI, she replaces MATT BROWN who's left the station after almost two years as ND.

KWCH-TV, Wichita, KS...BRIAN GREGORY heads east to become the next ND for this Sunflower Broadcasting (owned by Schurz Communications) CBS affiliate. Brian is currently an EP for KOVR-TV in Sacramento. He previously worked in Knoxville and Erie, PA. At KOVR, he replaces JOHN SOARES who left the station in January after just four months as news director.

WEAU-TV, Eau Claire, WI...MIKE LOPEZ will be the next ND for this Gray Television owned NBC affiliate. He's currently the Assistant ND for WVEC-TV in Norfolk. Mike's previously worked in San Francisco, Indianapolis, and for another station in Norfolk. He replaces ERIC SHEPARD who was ND here for not quite a year and a half.

KYMA-TV, Yuma, AZ...congratulations to ERNESTO ROMERO who's been promoted to ND in his hometown. Ernesto joined this NBC affiliate in 2009 and was promoted to Managing Editor in 2011. Wilson's also worked in Youngstown and Denison, TX. He replaces longtime WLBT News Director DENNIS SMITH who will retire at the end of February. Dennis has spent 45 years in TV news, most of it at WLBT, where he's been the news director since 1989. For the five years before that, he was the station's investigative reporter, managing editor, and assignment manager. KFOR/KAUT-TV, Oklahoma City, OK...MARY ANN ECKSTEIN has left this NBC affiliate after 33 years at the station, which is now owned by LocalTV.

KWCH-TV, Wichita, KS...after just four months at this CBS affilaite, JOHN SOARES has left this Sunflower Broadcasting owned operation. He previously had been ND at WJHL-TV in Johnson City, TN for two years. John has also worked in California. Old friend TOM LINDNER from parent company Schurz Broadcasting will serve as the interim news director.

Newly Named News Directors:

I'm not aware of any newly hired NDs this week (a reminder that we always appreciate your tips), but I do need to correct something from last week.

In our report on DAN BALL's appointment as ND for WFFT-TV in Ft. Wayne, IN, we called it a FOX affiliate. It once was, but hasn't been since August, 2011. It is now an independent station.

Sheldon Fox returns home to Miami, joining WSVN as a general assignment reporter. Previously, Sheldon was weekend evening anchor and crime reporter for WGNO in New Orleans.

Certified Broadcast Metoerologist, George Waldenberger, joins WFTV in Orlando as the weekend meteorologist. Previously, he was weekend meteorologist for KSHB in Kansas City.

Kristin Kane joins Bright House Network’s Central Florida News 13 as weekend anchor. For the past two years, Kristin was a reporter and fill-in anchor for KRIV in Houston.

Anthony DeLorenzo joins WFTV in Orlando as a general assignment reporter. Previously, he was a reporter for WTIC in Hartford.

Beth Vaughn moves to Indianapolis as morning anchor for WRTV. Beth was previously a reporter for KSHB in Kansas City.

Morgan Chesky moves to Oklahoma City as weekend anchor and reporter for KOCO. Previously, Morgan was a reporter and fill-in anchor for KVUE in Austin.

Carina Corral moves up 67 markets to join KSEE as morning anchor in Fresno. Carina has been the morning anchor at KSBY in Santa Barbara.

CHRISSY KOHLER moves to Charleston, South Carolina; where she will forecast weather for the NBC affiliate WCBD. Kohler worked at KPAX in Missoula, Montana as the AM Weather Anchor. That's a 67 market jump for Chrissy.

ELIZABETH KEATINGE is the newest reporter at KGNS. Keatinge will report for the Laredo, Texas NBC station. Elizabeth previously worked as a reporter for MTV Network and New York Post in New York City.

WARD has been both ND and anchor, a job he's held since the summer of 2011. He'll now concentrate on anchoring full time. KEYT is an ABC affiliate. WVVA-TV, Bluefield, WV...MARK RIGSBY has left this Quincy owned NBC affiliate after three years as news director. He previously was the Assistant ND for KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, IA. He's also worked in Charleston/Huntington, WV, Clarksburg, WV, and Wilmington, NC.

Newly Named News Directors:

WNWO-TV, Toledo, OH...JIM BLUE returns to this Barrington Broadcasting owned NBC affiliate. He left the station in 2008 when it did not renew his contract, and has been working as the ND/Anchor for WFFT-TV in Ft. Wayne (more on that below). At WNWO, he'll replace AMYLYA RAGHUVEER who is taking a new role as Director of Digital Content and Community Relations.

WFFT-TV, Ft. Wayne, IN...DAN BALL has been named ND/Anchor for this Nexstar owned FOX affiliate. As noted above, he'll replace JIM BLUE who's returning to Toledo as ND/Anchor for WNWO-TV. Dan most recently had been an anchor for KSNV-TV in Las Vegas. He's also worked in Grand Rapids, MI, Fresno, and Palm Springs, CA. Jim Blue was the first ND for the station.

WTVM-TV, Columbus, GA...DARRYL HUGER moves within Raycom to become ND for this ABC affiliate. He's currently the Assistant ND for another Raycom station, WCSC-TV in Charleston, SC where he's worked since 2007. At WTVM, he replaces TOM BURKE who left the station in December and is looking for a new position in a larger market.
